On August 10th, 1985 at the Yorba Regional Park in Yorba Linda, California, 71 of the descendants of Benjamin Franklin and Ann Eva Dittmore Heaps met together for their first family reunion. The reunion’s success was attributed to the organization and hard work given by Lewis Heaps, President of the Heaps Family Organization and to Stephen Cowan, Secretary. Many of the young people expressed that they had a surprising good time and all of us agreed that the reunion wasn’t long enough. We all greatly appreciated Lewis and Stephen for the fantastic job they did. It was agreed by all to have another reunion the following year.
