The reunions for the descendants of Benjamin Franklin & Ann Eva Dittmore Heaps was started several years ago by their son, Lewis Heaps. Sometimes the reunions would be held yearly and other times they were held every two years until the family voted that it be returned to a yearly event, allowing us to stay better connected. It was about 1991 when the family voted to have the reunions on the 4th Saturday of June each year. Once in awhile family members would get mixed up when June would 5 Saturdays and then it would always be reemphasized that it’s the 4th Saturday regardless of the number of Saturdays in June that particular year.

The website did not start posting the upcoming reunions until 2004. The histories of past reunions have not been added to the website until 2006; therefore, there is missing information and photos for many of our past reunions. The information is being put together using an old reunion photo notebook and lots of resurrected memories. The last reunion was 2010. Photos were not taken.
